What is Colleague Computing Services?
The Colleague Computing Services (CCS) department of Information Technology (IT) maintains and supports the main school’s database, the Colleague system, and related reporting and online systems and services.
This group is responsible for protecting the stability and integrity of the system, installing new modules and enhancements as appropriate, and ensuring that Colleague is accessible to users when needed.
The department consists of five staff members trained in technical support, database management, and programming.
What is the Colleague system?
The Colleague system deploys the Ellucian Colleague ERP, a higher education enterprise resource planning platform (formerly Datatel Inc.).
It is made up of several integrated modules that facilitate the processing of all administrative data for the College — from prospect tracking through student graduation, accounts receivable and payable, and faculty and staff employment data.
Colleague integrates in real time with MyServices, Ellucian’s self-service web solution. Students can search for classes, view grades and schedules; faculty can submit grades and view class rosters; budget staff can view budget information and process requisitions; and Continuing Education students can search, register, and pay online.
Colleague also shares information with other SVA database-driven systems, including myID, the ID card system, and the online course catalog.
How do I access Colleague?
The Colleague system is accessed via the Colleague User Interface (UI). Access is granted to SVA Administrative staff per supervisor request. See Login Request Forms in the sidebar or click here for the request forms.
