SVA Museum Benefits
As a benefit to students, faculty, and staff, SVA maintains memberships at various New York City museums. Each institution has its own guidelines for entry; please review the guidelines below before your visit.

TICKETING
- Advanced ticketing is strongly encouraged.

- Current SVA students, faculty and staff are entitled to redeem up to 1 complimentary general admission ticket per visit and are entitled to purchase 2 tickets to special exhibitions at a 40% discount.
GROUP VISITS & TOURS
- To take advantage of the following tour benefits, please notify Miranda Pierce, mpierce1@sva.edu, with the date and number of guests at least one week in advance.
- Free self-guided gallery visits for classes are available. (There may be additional fees for certain shows.)
- Curator-led tours are available at a 25% discount.

ENTRY
- Current SVA staff and faculty receive free, unlimited admission via a Corporate Membership.
- Visit the MoMA Membership desk in the lobby and show your SVA ID for entry.
- Mention that SVA has a Corporate Membership if you have problems accessing the benefit.

- Opportunity to purchase up to five $5 guest tickets per employee, per visit.

- Corporate Members and their guests are not required to reserve timed tickets.
GROUP VISITS & TOURS
- Group visits: 10 – 50 visitors; defined as a group moving through the galleries together with no lecturing/guiding.

- In order to take advantage of SVA’s free admission, select “Is your employer a Corporate Member of the Museum? * = YES” and select “Discounted Group Admission only (a minimum of ten people required)”
- Guided tours: A professional MoMA tour guide will lead these tours.

New Museum of Contemporary Art (Temporarily Closed)

The New Museum is temporarily closed due to an expansion project. During this time, New Museum programs will continue online and offsite; check their website for more information. The museum is scheduled to reopen in 2025.

TICKETING
- Advanced ticketing is encouraged.
- Complimentary tickets can be pre-booked through the Corporate Membership Ticketing
- Current students, faculty, and staff can enter the code SVA2 to receive their complimentary tickets. Promo codes can be added in the payment section, specifically in the “Have a Promo Code?” area. The discount will be applied to two tickets. Any additional tickets will need to be purchased.
- Upon booking confirmation, tickets will be sent via email. Visitors must present their tickets at the museum, to be scanned for entry.
- Children under 18 visit the museum for free.
GROUP VISITS & SELF-GUIDED TOURS
- Two weeks advance notice is recommended for scheduling group visits. Confirmation can take 3-5 days. Please plan accordingly.
- Group Visits are defined as 10 or more guests. Groups larger than 25 may be required to stagger entry into the museum based on availability.
- For Group Admission, lecturing in the galleries is not permitted.
- For Self-Guided Tours, a Lecture Badge must be purchased for $30 (good for one-time use), and a copy of the lesson plan must be submitted ahead of time on SVA letterhead. At the bottom of the request form, please indicate your interest in lecturing in the galleries and the museum will reach out to you.
- For Group Visits and Self-Guided Tours, complete this form.
- When filling out the form, answer “Yes” to the following questions:
- “Is your company a Whitney Corporate Member?”
- Corporate members at the Partner, Benefactor, or Patron level receive free employee admission. If you qualify for complimentary admission, select yes.
- Note: Guided tours led by a museum teaching fellow are available, but are not included in our membership. These tours are priced at $250 for 25 guests. Instructors can work one-on-one with Teaching Fellows to develop a tour that engages with their course content.

Get Enhanced Benefits with Corporate Museum Membership Cards, Available for Check Out at SVA Library
SVA faculty and staff can check out corporate membership passes to the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art from the SVA Library. The passes offer enhanced benefits including free admission and expedited entry to the museums for the cardholder and additional guests, as well as access to members-only viewing hours. See additional information on the cards below.
The cards can be checked out from the SVA Library circulation desk for one week at a time. They are available at the main library (380 Second Avenue, 2nd floor); to check them out from SVA Library West (133/141 West 21st Street, lower level), please contact library staff in advance.
MoMA Corporate Membership Card
- Free admission for the Corporate Membership Card holder and up to four guests. No advanced reservations required—simply present the Corporate Membership Card to be scanned at the Membership Desk in the lobby.
- For additional guests, you may purchase up to five guest passes for $5 each (per visit).
- Member Early Hours—visit the Museum on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 – 10:30am for exclusive Members only viewing hours.
Whitney Corporate Executive Courtesy Card
- Free admission and expedited entry to the Whitney Museum for the cardholder plus three guests.
- Access to daytime Member preview hours when available.
- Discounts and special offers in the Meatpacking District (for a full list of participating merchants, visit whitney.org/MemberDiscounts).
